Kanji
There are so many resources available to you as students of Japanese. When you study kanji, there still seems to be an endless supply of texts, guides, cheat sheets, apps and websites. Many of these are very, very helpful but I would say you need to find the resource that best assists you. Here are just some of the resources I recommend you adding to your collection of faithful "go-tos".
One of the best online resources for any student of Japanese, or even someone who wants to know more about Japanese culture is the amazing Tofugu website. It is not uncommon for me to lose hours here, reading article, after review, after study tip, after story about travel. The links and topics are endless. Besides being one of the most visually appealing sites, it has some of the best study guides and tips available to you.
When it comes to understanding kanji, I recommend all of my students by this stage should have explored How to Guess A Kanji's Stroke Order, by Koichi, founder of Tofugu. |
As highlighted in class, a very useful resource, as well as your own textbooks and kanji workbook is the website, KanjiAlive that gives an excellent overview of the kanji, the origins, pronunciations both Onyomi and Kunyomi, and most importantly for you, an animation of the correct stroke order. If you have audio connected, clicking on the sample words will playback a recording of the word. It is a brilliant resource for you - one among so many online resources at your fingertips.
